Cognitive workload modeling employing electroencephalography, deep learning and the multiple resource theory.
Cognitive workload is a construct that represents the mental demands of an individual while performing a task. EEG is a technique for measuring brain activity with high temporal resolution and relative inexpensiveness. The multiple resource theory is a psychological framework for analyzing human attention and performance, particularly during multi-tasking. The goal of this research is to define a cognitive workload model that does not rely on subjective ratings but instead employs naturalistically sampled EEG data to identify the degree of the activation of the resources that make up multiple resource theory.
