I had my internship at Eaton, Dublin from September 2022 to January 2023. Eaton is a power management company. Its energy-efficient products and services help customers effectively manage electrical, hydraulic and mechanical power more reliably, efficiently, safely and sustainably. During my placement, I worked as data scientist with data center and management at Center of intelligence and power. I carried out the research project on root cause analysis (RCA) for real time time series data via causal analysis. I used the real time data coming from Eaton’s devices.
The placement gave me the opportunity to work on industry products in a completely new field for me. It gave me an opportunity to gain domain knowledge in causality, temporal data and insights to the data collection from data center and various electronics components. It is fantastic to get familiar with the research carried out in this industry, but it was even better to do that with the very talented members of the data center and management team of Eaton, who are wonderful teammates as well.
